When Cyndi Lauper sings about kidneys, attention must be paid

I don't know, maybe I'm biased, but there is just something wicked awesome about celebrities singing about giving a kidney to a man named Milton Greene, "We are the World" style. Simply Awesome.

I have PKD and I'm a transplant of 6 months. my wonderful husband gave his kidney to me. there's alot of things to consider when donating. I as the receipent wouldn't take is so lightly. I know it's great that there trying to bring attention to this need. but there's a very fine line of comedy and seriousness. I personally would of like to see a more serious video. just looking at it through my eyes. a kidney is a priceless gift.

Sorry, I should have given some context for the video. It's from the season finale of the show "30 Rock", which is a sitcom starring Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey.

In this episode, Alec Baldwin's father needs a kidney, but Baldwin isn't a match, so he calls in all his favors and gets celebrities to do a benefit concert for his dad. It is meant to be a joke, and it's not actually about raising awareness--it was just for laughs. And it did make me laugh and laugh and laugh. Sorry, I hope it didn't offend you. I'm with you on the whole kidney is a precious gift thing. I'll probably need a kidney before too long. Believe me, I know it's a serious matter. Trust me--it keeps me up at night.

Still, sometimes it's nice to just laugh at it all, you know?
